Dar Es Salaam Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda made a speech yesterday in a religion symposium held in the National Stadium and he banned three things in the Dar Es Salaam city. RC said public cigarette smoking, Sheesha smoking and homosexuality are prohibited in Dar Es Salaam city effectively seven days from yesterday.
"From now all Sheesha smoking in Bar, clubs and other places in Dar Es Salaam is strictly prohibited. According to TFDA Sheesha smoking causes a lot of health effects, such as throat cancer, brain function, addictions and others. Therefore seven days from today all Sheesha sellers and smokers will be captured and jailed."
"Secondly from now onwards public smoking is prohibited because the smoke affects non smokers more than the smokers, therefore seven days from today anyone who will be caught smoking in a public area will be jailed."
"Thirdly, few years back our country Tanzania rejected money aid from developed countries because it was made in terms of developing homosexuality. According to my investigation some registered NGOs have been accepting these aids and promote homosexuality in Dar Es Salaam city. I have spoken to minister of law, and minister of domestic affairs, therefore any NGO which will promote homosexuality in this city will be unregistered and banned."
"Moreover seven days from today all gays who are advertising themselves in social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook and in Television Stations will be captured and jailed. Everyone who is following them in Instagram and Facebook will suffer the same consequences."
