Police have congratulated one woman (name withheld) for her courage of crashing thugs with her car after they invaded her shop. Police commander Mr Simon Siro told reporters yesterday that the incident happened on June 21, at Buguruni Malapa in Dar Es Salaam city.
This woman was in her shop around late evening hours when thugs invaded her shop and ordered her to handover all the money she had gather in that day sells. She asked them not to hurt her and allowed them to enter the shop and take whatever they want.
Then she went to her car and stayed there queitly, the thugs took the money around 420,000Tsh and as they were climbing their motorcycle to leave the area, this woman started her car with a lot of speed and hit them. They both fell down with one of them dropping his handgun, unfortunately they were able to escape with the money.
Mr Siro has congratulate this woman for her courage and asked others to take her example when invaded by thugs in either their homes or shops.
Furthermore Mr Siro said police will make sure that the celebration of Eid El Fitri is done in peace and harmony especially considering the fact that thugs use celebrations as an opportunity to commit crime.
"Different police officers have been assigned into different areas to ensure security and parents should be careful about places they take their kids to celebrate especial beaches, and toddlers disco/dance." He said
