"Omo is a giraffe whom is state professionally is known as 'leucistic' meaning that large part of its skin cells have no capability of making the colour but some have the capability and that's why it's colour is lighter with red or blue eyes just like human being with albinism."
"However this giraffe is not completely albino is leucism, although it has blue or red eyes like albino, it's skin colour isn't completely light like albinos who are completely white and lighter." He added
"This is a congenital situation, Omo is the only giraffe we have seen with this condition, but we have also seen other animals with similar condition such as moose, buffalo and ostrich."
"Omo is close to other giraffes regardless of its skin colour, it is 15 months old now. Omo was able to survive the first year of its life but with the case of so many poachers right now, am not sure how long he will survive because its skin colour could be an exceptional attraction to poachers."
