CHADEMA Volunteers Charged For Falsefying Currently Election Results Granted Bail

CHADEMA eight youth arrested on Tuesday for publishing inaccurate election results through social media have been granted bail. Initialy the prosecution team provided certificate to prevent bail on the ground of public safety but Kisutu residents magistrate court on Friday granted them bail after agreeing with the defence team that the objection to bail produced by Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) does not mention if the granting bail to the accused will cause any damage to the public.

The eight youths including three foreigners have been granted bail which requires each to have two sureties who have letters from the local government or any recognised institutionwho will have to sign a bond of 5 million Tanzania Shillings.

The accused names are Mashinda Edwin Mtei, Julius Mwita, Fredirick Eddie Fussi, Julius Mwonga Matei, Meshack Carlos Mlawa, Anisa Rulanyaga, Jose Mavinga Nimi and Kim Hyunwook.
