Mother hit with £70 Fine After Breastfeeding her Daughter in a Car in an Asda Car Paking

Rosie Hayes, 34, fed five-week-old Ella in the passenger seat of her car after completing her shopping at the supermarket in Brighton, East Sussex.

As a result, the new mother overstayed the maximum three hour free parking limited by just 26 minutes.

The park management gave her a fine of £70 for the 26 minutes she stayed after three hours. Rosie tried to explain to them that her daughter was getting really hungry after shopping for three hours. She tried to look for places around where she could feed her daughter but there were none so she decided to feed her in the car since she was getting very hungry.

The park management didn't want to understand her so they kept insisting she should pay the fine. Rosie as a loyal customer was very disappointed she therefore asked for them to chang their polices because under her circumstances there was nothing she could do to avoid the 26 minutes overstay.

However later on the park management overturn the fine as a gesture of good will. Rosie had undergo enough disturbance by then so she still felt it was inappropriate for the park management not to understand her situation from the beginning especially in Brighton were life is always family and friendly.
