Police in Dar shot and killed two people who are suspected to be behind the recent attacks in Mwanza and Tanga in which 11 people were killed. The Dar Es Salaam Special Zone Commander, Mr Simon Sirro, mentioned the killed bandits names, Said Mhango (30) who was linked to Mwanza mosque bloodbath. Another bandit killed is Mohamed Abdallah alias Abou Seif, who is suspected to be behind recent killings in Tanga.

Mr Simon said Mhando died on the way as he was being rushed to Muhimbili hospita. The police shot the two bandits as they were trying to escape through a window.

“Law enforcers had temporarily put the suspect’s house under siege; he did all he could to escape but in vain as our officers were ready to act,” he said.

Mr Sirro also said that the bandits threw a hand grenade in the direction of the police officers but luckily it didn't explode. The officers responded by shots and one was shot on the leg as he defied the order to surrender.

He further explained that the bandit behind the machete attack in Tanga, Mohamed Abdallah tried to exchange fire with police officers in Temeke before he was overpowered by the police. A pistol, 19 rounds of am munitions and hand bomb were found in his possession. He was one of the most wanted criminals in the country.
