Malecela Vows to Weed Out Child Rape From Same

Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Parliamentary Candidate for Same East, Ms Anne Kilango-Malecela, has vowed to get rid of child rape that has been chronic in the constituency.
Addressing a public rally at Maore Ward here at the weekend, Ms Malecela said if elected she will ensure the problem remains history in Same and will work closely with the Human Rights Commission and other law bodies.
Ms Malecela who is also the Deputy Minister for Education and Vocational Training said child rape is inhuman, adding that she was sad that the problem is persistent in the area.
“Many citizens have been deeply hurt due to ignorance of the law. A child is raped; the suspect is apprehended but later released. I want us all to work with the Human Rights Commission and other law bodies to ensure that all those who will be found guilty of the act are held accountable,” said Ms Malecela.
The candidate who has led the constituency for the past 15 years said she has managed to improve various sectors such as health and education services, road construction and rehabilitation as well as put up efforts in construction of ginger factory.
She said that when she took over, the constituency was lagging behind in development and that it was unfair given its wealth in natural resources. She said her efforts, coupled by those of the government have realised fruits and now there is much improvement in many sectors.
“Our constituency is very rich, but the main problem was infrastructure, as roads were impassable hence citizens failed to transport their crops and other goods to the market. I fought hard and now roads have been constructed and are passable by 80 percent.
I am the one who convinced the government to construct them - Same road, Mkomazi and Kisiwani to Ndungu,” she said. The Deputy Minister also noted that a 96 kilometer road has been constructed and now it is a regional road.
She said 77bn/- has been allocated so that it is constructed to tarmac level and promised that if reelected she will see its completion. She appealed to the electorate to choose CCM Presidential Candidate, Dr John Magufuli saying that he was God’s choice, and that is why in the past his name was not heard among those who were said would contest for the highest office.
Ms Malecela said Dr Magufuli has never been involved in any shoddy deal and that he is a clean person who will put dedicated service if elected the fifth president of Tanzania.
She was sure he is the right man to fight corruption in the country. Speaking during the rally, Maore Ward councillorship candidate, Mr Hamadi Sempombe said some politicians were manipulating the youth so as to achieve their personal goals.
