Pray for Peace, Unity and Harmony Says Catholic Bishop Methodius Kilaini

Christians celebrates birth of Jesus every year on 25th December, as they celebrate this Christmass Bukoba Diocese Catholic Bishop Methodius Kilaini urged every Christian to pray for peace, harmony and unity within the country. Speaking to Daily news reporter Bishop said "in marking the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God who is believed to be born about 2,000 years ago, the Tanzanian community with no regards to religious beliefs have to join their hands to pray for the unity and stability of the country."
Bishop Kilain also urged government officials who have been given different positions to serve the citizens and fight corruption as well as fund embezzlement.
“I would like to use this Christmas Eve to urge all public servants to dedicate their performance and services for public interest, this is the only secret to development and for sure they will be blessed by our living God,” he insisted.
“There are lot of issues we are supposed to learn from the life of Jesus Christ whose birth is going to be marked tomorrow (today), let’s live a good life with everyone,” added the Bishop.
On the other hand during Maulid celebration yesterday 24 December, Sheiky Hemedi Jalala also asked Tanzanians to commit themselves to making those virtues, including brotherly love, tolerance, humility, service to others, honesty, fairness and equity, more manifest in their daily lives.
We have to maintain the spirit of our nation by promoting unity and harmony among ourselves,” he said and added that Muslims and Christians should not be antagonized by their beliefs rather they have to be unified by proper morals and actions as mentioned in their holy books.
