House Help Nabbed Over TANAPA Manager Murder

Police have arrested a domestic servant in connection with the murder of Tanzania National Part Authority (TANAPA) protection manager Murder, Stephan Kisamo, who was his boss. Ismail Sang'wa (20), who lives in Sepuka village in Ikungi District, Singida region was arrested after police investigations found out that he was among the suspects behind the killing.

Arusha Regional Police Commander (RPC) Liberatus Sabas told reporters the suspect was a gardener at the late Kisamo’s residence. He admitted to have killed his boss by using a machete when grilled by the police.
According to police reports, Kisamo was killed in the wee hours of December 18 at Kikwakwaru area in Arusha Region, just a few hours after he left his house in a private motor vehicle of which he was the driver.
His body was found in the boot of the car after which the police towed the vehicle to the Central Police Station where his wife brought a spare key that helped to open it. The RPC said during interrogation, Sang’wa confessed to have killed his boss after realising that he had 5m/- with him.
According to Mr Sabas, the suspect killed his boss to acquire the money. “When we arrested him, he showed us the blood-stained machete that he used to kill his boss. He was also found with 4.3m/-, three Samsung mobile phones, some blood-soaked clothes and Vodacom airtime vouchers amounting to 70,000/-,’’ he said. In the interrogation, the RPC added, Sang’wa attacked his boss as he was drinking porridge in his sitting room, killing him instantly.
The suspect was also found with towels and the deceased’s trousers that he used to clean up the mess after killing his boss. After the event, the suspect told law enforcers that he put the body of his former boss in the boot of a motor vehicle with registration number T435 CSY, a Nissan Mazda and drove it from the crime scene to Likwakwaru area. Police are holding four other suspects, including the wife of the former TANAPA investigation chief, Caroline Lukumay, in connection with the incident.
In the earlier reports, Kisamo’s death was associated with his no-nonsense efforts in the fight against poaching, with some believing that he knew the names of prominent people accused of poaching in Arusha Region and beyond. But Mr Sabas said police investigations have established that Kisamo’s death came as a result of his employee’s quest for money.
