'9 Out of 10 Wants Bunge Live ' - Says Twaweza

Twaweza organisation conducted a research within people living in Tanzania and realised 9 out of 10 people wants the government to air parliament meetings live instead of recorded. This is means that 92% of Tanzania residents wants Bunge (Parliament) meetings to be broadcasted live so as every citizen will be able to see how his/her Member of Parliament (MP) is representing their problems in the parliament.

According to Mwananchi newspaper, Twaweza conducted this research from March 29 to April 12 reaching people from different places within the country and the results are very clear that people don't want to watch recorded version of parliament meetings instead of live.
However Twaweza organisation also conducted another research in which they realised that four out of ten people interviewed are against government decision to air recorded version of parliament meetings instead of live. This is equal to 79% out 100

Early this year Tanzania government through its Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports decided to introduce parliament studios which will be responsible to air all parliament meetings, other private media will have to take information from the parliament studio. Moreover parliament meetings will be broadcasted at night instead of live so as to allow viewers  to engage in their daily duties and be able to watch the meetings laiter in the evening when they are done with their daily responsibilities.
