Honorauble Deo Haule Filikunjombe, member of parliament for Ludewa district has died in helicopter crash. Mr Deo was in Helcopter with other people travelling from Dar Es Salaam to Ludewa for the campaign, unfortunately it crashed at Selous forest.
His death has been confirmed by Ilala municipal Mayor Jerry Silaa who has also lost his father Captain William Silaa.
"I have received information from the rescue team with so much sadness, unfortunately the rescue team has arrived at the accident location and found all passengers and pilot have lost their lives.
I have lost my father and great pilot of our country Captain William Slaa, I have also lost friend and great leader Honourable Deo Filikunjombe. My condolences to all who have lost their relatives. I pray for the deceased to Rest In Perfect Peace.
I thank all who have cooperated with family to rescue them. I thank Presdient Jakaya Kikwete, Dr John Pombe Magufuli, IGP Ernest Mangu, general secretary Dr Meru, Everest Aviation company, members of parliament, district commissioners, TCAA officers and everyone else who helped to find the victims of this accident. We shall give you more information later." Jerry said.
The accident happened yester evening and Captain William Silaa, Honorauble Deo Filikunjombe and other passengers were in the Helcopter 5Y-DKK traveling from Dar Es Salaam to Ludewa, and it crashed at mount Selous.
