400 houses have been demolished today in Iloganzila at Kibamba Dar Es Salaam, the decision to demolish the houses was made by high court few days back. According to Millard Ayo blog, the 33 acre land where the houses have been built on belongs to Henry Kashangaiki, but in 1997 eleven people intrude the area and started selling plots to other citizens.
After the incident Henry Kashangiki took the case to court accusing Shaha Matibwa of land grabbing and after five years in 2010, judge made the decision that both of them have the right to own the 33 acres therefore they should devide it equally. However Kashangaiki wasn't satisfied with the decision so he appealed and the case was taken to high court.
January 2016, the judge in the high court gave his final judgement and Kashangaiki won, therefore the court gave the order of 400 houses to be demolished few days back, today the order is fulfilled.
