Lionel Messi and Dad Sentenced to 21 Months Imprisonment For Tax Evasion

Argentina footballer Lionel Messi and his father Jorge have been sentenced to 21 months imprisonments for tax evasion. Luckily under Spanish law any sentence below two years can be served under probation therefore Messi and his father may not serve any time at all.

The famous footballer and his father were found guilty on three counts of tax fraud. The court said their sentence can be appealed to Supreme Court and they are both given fines to pay. Messi is given fine of £1.7 million while his father was given a fine of £1.5 million.
