NEC chairman Judge Lubuva yesterday said that so far the Commision has announced results for 195 constituencies among 264 constituencies, the commission plans to complete the remaining 69 constituencies today 29th Oct 2015; and proceed with the process of announcing the winner.
So far Dr John Pombe Magufuli has acquired a total of 6,105,304 votes equal to 58.6 percent against his competitive Edward Lowassa who has 4,193,304 votes which is equal to 40.3 percent of all 195 constituencies results announced. Therefore Dr John Pombe Magufuli is ahead of competitor by 1,912,000 votes.
Judge Lubuva told reporters yester night that the international observers were content by the work done by the Commision so far and they have already provide report that the election was fair, transparent and free.
He also asked the public and observers to be aware of side networks who keep on announcing fake results to the public through social media.
“Let’s cooperate, be cautious of side networks. Those are just side shows. Everything is transparent; every polling station is pinning up results for the public at all levels of Member of Parliament (MP), councillors and president,” judge Lubuva said.
Moreover he asked the public to continue trusting the Commision and not to pay attention to all the false information circulating through social media.
