Dr Magufuli yesterday addressed CCM political party members during the party celebration at Lumumba street Dar Es Salaam. The new elected Tanzania president promised to work hard as soon as he is sworn as the president so as to achieve everything he promised citizens during the campaign.
Dr Magufuli said he passed through all regions and he has seen many Tanzanians are facing problems like poor infrastructure, lack of energy, lack of clean and safe water, and so he will work hard to overcome these.
He also asked for support from everyone so that he will be able to do his work promptly. However Dr Magufuli urged public leaders to work hard as well because he won't show any mercy to lazy workers who wants to be bribed first before delivering their responsibilities.
“It should not be business as usual, some people first want to be given bribes to induce them to work and I will strongly work to correct such misconduct in order to effect government delivery,” he told the gathering amid cheers.
“Public servants …elections are now over, it is time to work now, once I take oath of office, every one of you should get into work,” he said, noting that he will not tolerate any servant that will fail to be responsible to play their roles, there will be no second chance for irresponsible workers.
Dr Magufuli also told president Kikwete not to worry because he is leaving the country on the safe hands and Magufuli will work hard along with the new elect Vice President Ms Samiah Suluhu Hassan to proceed from where he left to another level.
On the other hand president Kikwete addressed CCM party members and he said he has confidence in Dr Magufuli, he is sure by 2025 under the leadership of Dr Maguduli Tanzania will have overcome poverty and it will be in the middle income countries.
“I am without doubt that the country will move forward. He stands for transformation,”
“I am confident you will move our country forward and by the time you will be leaving the office, Tanzania would have come out of poverty. By 2025 Tanzania will be a middle-income country,” president Kikwete said
Dr John Pombe Magufuli will be sworn as the fifth Tanzania president on 5th November 2015.
