Chloe Sullivan 24 year old and single mother of two met Craig Johnson in a dating site plenty fish and the two started communicating. Chloe lived in Cumbria and she met Craig in July last year, Craig told her, he had just move to the area from London the two texted each other everyday for a month and Craig kept insisting for them to meet in person. After a month Chloe agreed to meet him so he passed by her house when the kids weren't around for a quick cup of coffee. Chloe was so attracted to his physical appearance and his personality, he was a very handsome and charming guy.
They both started dating and within few months of relationship Craig spoiled Chloe and her children with pretty gifts such as a coat, boots, jewellery inshort he made sure she got all luxuries which Chloe couldn't afford. Everyone including friends, family, Chloe children thought Craig was fantastic, Chloe spent Christmas with him and Craig had start talking about settling down and have a child together.
The truth is Craig wasn't being so generous to Chloe as it seemed instead Chloe was the one paying for everything. One day Chloe realised her bank account balance was higher than it should be and after making follow up she realised a lump sum loan of £1500 had been deposited into her account and now the lender company was deducting the loan payment.
"I was furious with him and demanded to know what was going on,” she says. “He told me he was still waiting for his bank card so he had got it deposited into my account but was trying to get it changed. I was shouting at him, saying he had to do it.”
But after he didn't take action to pay the loan Chloe threaten to go to the police and that's when Craig completely disappeared he never answered any of Chloe's calls or text messages again.
“I didn’t know what to do. The loans company was still taking money out of my account.
“I didn’t even know if the police could help as we had been in a relationship. I had been naive. I felt ashamed. One day, I burst into tears and told my mum everything.”
She convinced Chloe to report Craig to the police and, while they were investigating, she discovered a flute and a digital camera were missing from her home.
She also found a pile of statements from online catalogues stuffed at the back of her wardrobe.
“They were all in my name,” she says. “I felt sick and burst into tears.” Worried, she decided to find out what else Craig had set up in her name.
“I cracked the passwords to his email account and found he had been talking to other women online while we were together,” she says.
Then Chloe discovered something else much more shocking Craig had been sentenced to ten month in prison in Newcastle for charge of theft, dishonest representation and receiving stolen good. Thats when Chloe realised she had been dating a criminal and decided to set a trap for him.
Chloe and her brother Jay created a fake account in plenty fish dating site and texted Craig,
the two charted for a while and agreed to meet in a pub then Chloe called in police for him.
He was arrested and the police helped Chloe to clear the debts in her account, Chloe says she is now done with men and she shared her story to help other young women not to fall into a trap like she did.
