Shooting at a community college in Oregon has left at least 15 people dead and more than 20 wounded, according to local news reports.
The shooting took place at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg on Thursday, CNN reported citing Oregon State Police.
Roseburg is about 290km south of Portland.
The local fire district advised people via Twitter to stay away from the college.
"We responded to a report of a shooting at the local community college and it's a developing situation," Officer Dwes Hutson, of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, said.
CNN, citing a county official, said the shooter had been detained. It said at least one woman was shot in the chest.
The college was immediately placed on lockdown.
Umpqua Community College has about 3,000 students.
Its website was down on Thursday, and a phone message left at the school was not immediately returned.
