THE Presidential Candidate for Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (Chadema), Mr Edward Lowassa, has urged Tanzanians to vote for him so that he gives dedicated service to emancipate them from poverty.
a packed campaign rally held at Nkoring’a Grounds in Kibosho West Ward, Mr Lowassa said he would not let down his voters, adding changes were inevitable and anybody against the wave would be carried out of way.
Reiterating his priority in education for all, he told the multitudes that education will be free from pre-school to university level, saying there were enough resources to cater for the same.
“I urge you to vote us in office and you will be pleased with our style of leadership. As I said earlier, education will be of great quality and free of charge at all levels and you will be assured of quality lives,” said Mr Lowassa amid cheer from the audience.
The former prime minister, who arrived and left in helicopter, promised the villagers and coffee farmers of better prices for the main cash crop in the region. He said growers would be allowed to sell their crops anywhere within or outside the country, as opposed to the present situation whereby there is an official selling point under government directives. People gathered in large numbers, coming from various villages, some on foot while others afforded to board motorbikes at a rough fare of 1,000/-.
Mr Lowassa who was to have other meetings in Rombo and Moshi Urban districts said there was no reason for the electorate to vote for CCM, as it has failed to find a solution for their problems since its inception.
Speaking before Chadema Chairman, Mr Freeman Mbowe urged Kibosho residents to be bold, elect Chadema and Coalition of People’s Constitution (Ukawa) candidates if they want to have better lives. He said choosing Ukawa councillorship candidates, parliamentary candidate, Mr Anthony Komu and Mr Lowassa would be ideal and had to rest assured that development would be attained as the alliance is determined to change things for the better.
The meeting continued for hours after Mr Lowassa had left for other campaign rallies, with district, ward and village leaders from Ukawa taking their time to seek votes in the election slated from October 25th, this year.
There were many bodaboda operators with Chadema flags around the area, some used to operate at a nearby market and most of them had closed business in advance for the meeting.
