Celine Dion arrived at Notre Dame Basilica in a old Montrel, holding hands of her five year old twins, Eddy and Nelson; while her 14 year old son Rene Charles held Celine's mother hand. The singer led hundreds in a public funeral of her husband which took place in the same church they got married in 1994. Prime minister Justin Trudeau's wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, and federal heritage minister Melanie Jol also attended the funeral.
Celine dressed in a black full sleeve dress and a black veil to maintain her computer, during the service, Celine set her head on her husband casket for sometime. Her oldest son Rene Charles also said a word of gratitude and goodbye to her father during the service. He said

Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father, You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker … smoked meat … and a lot Of other wonderful food, bonding more and more as time went by.”
"You left me now with enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers,” René-Charles continued in his speech. “As they grow older without you being around, I’ll make sure to pass on what I’ve learned from you. You are a tough act to follow, but with your help everything is going to be fine. Dad, I promise you here that we are all going to live up to your standards.”
